Nestled in Chianti, Tuscany, in the heart of Italy, the Poggio Amorelli estate is ready to welcome connoisseurs and passionate wine lovers. Our sommeliers are on hand to offer hospitality and various services to visitors.
Guided tours are conducted by appointment every day from Monday to Sunday, lasting about an hour and a half and including a tour of the vineyards, the winery and cellar, with a thorough explanation of the various stages of wine production from harvest to winemaking. The tour will naturally conclude with a tasting of the best selection of their wines.
After visiting the cellar, one of our staff members will accompany the customer throughout the tasting, explaining our productive reality. The tasting includes a tasting of red and white wines grown entirely here:
Vermentino Spumante extra dry
Vermentino fermo Igt
Morellino di Scansano Docg
Chianti Classico Docg
Chianti Classico Riserva Docg
Super Toscano Igt
The wines available for tasting will be accompanied by tastings of typical Tuscan flavors, to enjoy the harmony of fragrances and flavors of this land. All the matchings are made with high quality products and at kilometer zero: extra virgin olive oil from the farm, a selection of refined Tuscan salami, balsamic vinegar, aged cheeses, grappa and Vin Santo del Chianti with typical Cantuccini biscuits.
The company also offers the possibility of combining the tasting with a full lunch for those wishing to discover the pleasure of the local cuisine. The dishes are prepared only with high quality products that express the flavors and aromas of the Tuscan tradition. These include handmade egg pasta with eggs collected from our hen house, precious truffles, vegetables from the organic garden, genuine sheep’s cheese (pecorino), homemade desserts, and many other organic products. Also, in summer, you can dine on the panoramic terrace overlooking a spectacular Tuscan landscape.
Organic vegetable garden
On the roof terrace is an organic garden growing seasonal vegetables and herbs of all kinds. The small plants are housed in large French oak barrels that once held the wine. The fruits of the garden come directly to the table, giving freshness to dishes served.
Companions and friends in our work, our domestic animals are also enjoyable attractions for visitors: the mascot Oracolo, the Haflinger horse that gave its name to the Super Tuscan wine, the two white sheep and the authentic symbol of Chianti Classico wine, the black rooster that guards the henhouse with our chickens.
